Family Gardens
Two very different gardens for families with young children. Both are easy to maintain with planting selected for ease of care and to avoid poisonous plants. Both deliberately exclude lawns as their owners wanted to have year round use of the space for the children to play.
The first, a square garden in Muswell Hill, has a play area with bark flooring and a child-safe water feature. It offers a smallish hard space for ball bouncing and trike-riding.
The second is a wide shallow garden behind a terraced Victorian House near Alexandra Palace. This inhabits a shallow hill rising behind the garden. A decked area with steps and built in seating enables year round garden use. A living willow playhouse gives the children much pleasure.
